Building Wonderful Bed Sheets
Monday, August 31st, 2009Our bed sheets really are an important part of the overall bedding items used on a bed, and without any question of doubt, the higher the quality bed sheets used, the happier you will be when you’re tucked in for the night. So many of us focus on the covers, and pillows, but the fabric we lay on also plays a big role in providing us with a good quality sleep.
When I shop for new sheets I always look for the ones with a thread count of at least 300. That is what sheets are like.
Bed sheets are available in two types: flat and fitted. A flat bed sheet is nothing more than a rectangular-shaped piece of linen. A fitted bed sheet features four corners with elastic bands around the edges and is used as a bottom sheet. A reason for using a fitted bottom sheet is to prevent it from slipping off of the mattress while the sleeper moves around on the bed. A unique method of folding and tucking while making up a bed is referred to as “hospital corners,” and this is typically employed when the bottom sheet is flat as opposed to fitted.
Remember, bed sheets are a critical factor in feeling the quality of your bed, and as we spend on average one third of our life there, we may as well make it as comfortable as possible, so buy good quality linen.
Cotton is by far the most popular material because it is snuggly in the winter and cool in the summer (although they have to be warmed up in the winter first). There’s just something about sinking into a bed with high quality cotton sheets. In addition to being comfortable, manufacturers tend to produce them in more styles and colors (than other sheet types) to keep up with the consumer demand. What about you? Are you a cotton person or silk? Do you want a frivolous thread count, or will 250 do? Think about your options carefully before you shop for bed sheets and then enjoy your choice.
Scripts and software explained
Monday, August 31st, 2009Fishermen are familiar with tangled lines. They may not happen when they are actually fishing, but take a length of line and store it out of sight, give it a little time and it seems magically to get itself into a mess.
Just like the fisherman, scripts has an incredible habit of doing the same. It starts out being carefully designed and nurtured, with everything neatly in its place and catalogued with the changes made to each file. If it is lucky, the software may arrive at the end of the development phase untangled, but all too often it slides down the slippery slope to entanglement before it ever gets there.
Generously speaking, and suggest that we have arrived at the post development stage relatively unscathed. At this point the erudite first team are itching to be off to pastures new, leaving a new group of people to look after it. I have yet to be involved in a handover that was truly effective, because the first team have forgotten the history that has brought them to this point in the development, and they usually struggle to impart the detailed knowledge that is essential to maintain the code. You need to find better software and scriptsfore your website or PC
Time passes, and with it designers come and go, taking with them what little knowledge they have gleaned. It is not surprising that the longer the product is alive then the more fragile it becomes, as successive intellects shoehorn in new features, and not fully understanding the code that is there, write code to make the product work rather than making the new code fit like like a glove.
With this in mind, the task that I have undertaken this week is to help people to understand some code that is in this very condition. The knowledge and history is intrinsically embedded in the code and it is important that any re-work doesn’t cause it to deteriorate.
You can preserve the identity of your code by teasing out self-contained unit in much the same way that you would with your Fisherman’s tangle. It does need patience, and you do need to talk to enough people to ensure that you understand what may be self-contained and what may not. As you tease the code out, you must continually update your decisions about what belongs in a unit and what doesnt.
Don’t tackle more than one self-contained script unit at a time, tease out everything that seems related, and then think awhile. You will find that your view on what belongs and what doesn’t will change as you come to understand it more.
Don’t be frightened to throw the odd bit of tangle back into the man mass if it doesn’t fit, and by teasing away module after module will eventually become exposed.
As you get one module isolated, take steps to make sure that you haven’t damaged the integrity of the code overall, before you dive in and tease out the next one. Sorting out software Tangles can be fun, and quite a challenge, but at the end of it you will have some code that makes more sense to you and a lot of others.
Natural Cures For Snoring
Monday, August 31st, 2009Besides dreaming and restlessness in the night, snoring is among the natural processes our bodies produce even during very deep sleep. It is a responsibility in the body that is made by exacting chemical mechanisms that seem to clash when the body is at its most restful state. Snoring is noisy breathing that happens when muscle in the throat partially block the airway and it becomes too relaxed causing air flowing through the passageway to resonate across the soft roof of the mouth. Snoring has many causes, not all of which can be treated by a single cure – that said, holistic curatives for snoring are often an impressive solution to snoring problems.
So, how to stop snoring: It is advisable to maintain a healthy weight and body size. To greatly improve our health, some traits that we have become used to enjoying must be restricted. Maintaining good physical shape weight makes you less susceptible to dangers involved in snoring. An individual who is heavy may have more problems with snoring than an individual who is not chubby. One reason for this opinion is that they will have a thicker neck that will compact the muscle used during breathing. Our throats are not designed to take surplus fat as this can create breathing problems which leads to snoring.
Those people who smoke and drink are probably more likely to suffer from snoring problems due to the discomfort they develop. The chemicals found in tobacco products can possibly change the protective tissues in the respiratory tract which can lead to harm from the chemical substances found in cigarettes and cigars. The outstanding building of mucus that builds up the obstructions comes from a particular kind of cell in the lining of the esophagus that changes into another form once smoke from cigarettes passes through it.
We feel more laid-back when we drink alcohol thus increasing the chance of a bad night. Snoring happens when the muscular tissue of the throat relax while asleep therefore causing the possibility that the muscle will intervene with the natural flow of air in and out of the lungs making hard to stop snoring.
Stitching a tennis ball into the rear of pajama tops was the earliest method of reducing snoring. Changing the position that you sleep might help you with your snoring cures. What you will discover when you alter the position that you sleep in is that your jaw will not hang back and cause blockages on the already narrow air passage. The majority of people suggest sleeping in a side ward attitude to stop the relaxed muscle from collapsing. To lessen the pressure on the airways it is suggested to sleep on your stomach, if you can put up with it, as in this position you are less subject to snoring. It is also frequently advised that you should elevate your bed to 30 degrees since this height is known to decrease the collapse of the tissues in the throat.

Discover Celebrity Figure Control Secrets
Monday, August 31st, 2009Introduction
The term ‘control wear’ is a relatively recent one. At one time these garments were called stays then corsets or girdles. The word ‘corset’ has old fashioned connotations so no doubt with modern materials and technology there is a need to find new ways to update the concept of body control garments. It seems quite clever to me to find such a good generic word to describe something which is a delicate subject (even unmentionable) and at the same time to promote such garments so that they become fashionable and popular. Somehow the term ‘control wear’ gives the right emphasis and explains exactly what it does.
Desirable silhouettes
Every culture has its idea of the ideal figure for a woman, and all the women belonging to that culture will try to fulfil this ideal regardless of their natural propensity. Who determines how the perfect woman should look is debatable, but there is no doubt it is part of the mating ritual so that men will find a woman desirable and want to have her for his mate. Different cultures have different ideas of beauty and some cultures like their women fat, others like them thin. Sometimes it’s colour of hair or eyes, other times it’s body fitness, long legs, long necks or wide hips, but usually it’s the myth (often unconscious) that certain shapes, styles or colour will signify the healthiest women for child bearing in order to fulfil our biological purpose to perpetuate the species.
When you look back through the centuries at the different styles of dress it becomes obvious that extremes of fashion usually appear at a time of affluence and leisure. It was only the very rich who could afford such luxuries of extreme styles. The poor had to make do with whatever they could find, or make themselves, to cover their bodies for warmth and decency. During times of hardship the styles became more practical and less elaborate. After the First World War some progressive women shocked the world by wearing bloomer like trousers when riding the new contraption called a bicycle.During the First World War there was a revolution in women’s clothing. They needed to be more practical and manageable for the wearer as many women involved themselves in helping with the war effort.
In some ways things have not changed much today. The famous and wealthy spend an inordinate amount of time and money on what they wear and the way they look and aim to create an image of the perfect male or female form for the rest of us to emulate. To that end they go on diets, have surgery or inject Botox, spend time with personal trainers and work out etc. As well as all that they find a need to resort to control wear to make sure there are no bulges or creases to mar their perfect form. When I was a very skinny teenager, Marilyn Monroe and Jane Mansfield were the models for female perfection with large breasts and small waists. I had the small waist but that was about all. Later along came Twiggy with her skinny body and legs and I would have been the required shape but alas by then I had produced three children and could now emulate the previous models. Then came the period of flower power where anything went and for once in history women burned their bra’s and allowed their bodies to be free of restrictive underwear.
Controlwear is the modern term for items of apparel which helps to moderate the natural outline of the body.
History of Control Wear and Body Shaping Forms
Throughout history there seems to have been a need to change the female form or to modify it in some way. If you look back to the Elizabethan times, their huge wide skirts and flat fronts made women look like cardboard cut-outs. The skirts were so wide they would have to turn sideways to pass through doorways. Later there came differing amounts of bust enhancement, hip or bottom enhancement, waist constriction and wide skirts, as well as all the many variations in sleeve styles, neckline and collars, overskirts, underskirts, I could go on forever.Changing the body line seems to have been an obsession from the mid 16th century
The earliest known control wear appearing during the 16th Century were called ‘pavre of bodies’ which contained the upper torso in the shape of a cone or cylinder. These forms later became the more familiar ‘stays’ which were made of wood or whale bone. The idea was to level the front of the body and in doing so push up the breasts so they bulged out of the top of the bodice. During one phase of the more promiscuous 18th century period, the nipples were encouraged to peep out, no doubt to titillate the male desire. Illegitimate babies were the norm and not treated as disgraceful during this time.
Stays were considered an essential item to keep the figure straight by supporting the back, tightening the midriff and improving posture. The restriction at the waist prevented bending and forced women to use their legs for lifting and thereby protecting their backs. Stays survived until the late 18th century when the empire style became into fashion around 1796. The bust was contained and pushed up by short stays and the waist line was just below the bust so that the natural waist line was hidden
When the waistline returned to its natural position the body restriction reappeared in the 1830’s. And the term ‘corset’ was used for the first time in English. Its purpose was to cinch the waist and support the breasts. During Victorian times the ideal form was an 18 inch waist with a full wide skirt supported by hoops to the floor. Ankles could not be seen and busts were emphasised but covered with lace for modesty. The shape I guess was determined by the natural figure of the young Victoria but exaggerated to create a fashion. To obtain this line the women forced themselves into whalebone corsets which were long, extending down beyond the natural waist line thus resulting in serious body-shaping. They were laced at the back therefore a maid was required to fasten the laces as they could not dress or undress themselves. To produce a tiny waist some women would have the corset pulled so tight they could hardly breathe. This then pushed the breasts upwards and compressed the internal organs.
During this period fainting was an art and it came easily when there was no room to breathe and everything else was squashed; added to that, the night air was considered bad for your health, so evening events became hot and stuffy. As a result dancing could cause women in the most robust health to feel lightheaded so it’s not surprising women appeared to suffer from indifferent health. When bulges and wrinkles become fashionable body shapers will no longer be needed.
During the Edwardian period at the beginning of the 1900’s the Victorian style was replaced by the new look shaped profile. The bosom was raised and large, the waist small with a large bustle at the back to create a completely unrealistic female shape. The front of the skirt went straight down to the feet and there were many flounces tiered down from the back often with trains for formal occasions which had to be picked up and held whilst walking or dancing. Later to build on this shape, leg-o-mutton sleeves were added for day wear; although for evenings low necklines and short capped sleeves were the norm. These elaborate dresses cost thousands of pounds in today’s money so that again only the wealthy could dress in this way. The average woman had to make do with home-made copies or just plain gather skirts and plain bodices.
What is Wrong with our Natural Shape?
When you see the pictures by Degas of ladies bathing you will see that they are well rounded with tummies, big bottoms and legs probably with cellulite and well developed breasts. Very few of the women would be under a UK size 16. They still wore stays but mostly I suspect it was to support the breasts rather than reduce the thighs and hips. Gok in his TV programme ‘How to Look Good Naked’ encourages women to be positive about their bodies and focuses on choosing the right clothes to accentuate their best features. His success lies in the fact that after they have gone through this transformation, the women all feel much more confident and happy with the way they are.
However choosing the right foundation garments is essential to improve posture and create a smooth line to provide a good basis to make the most of the clothes that are placed on top.
Modern Control Wear – What Spanx can do for you
Modern control wear offers women the option of support and clean lines, without the restriction of movement experienced with the old fashioned corset. Spanx power panties seem to be the latest rage in control wear these days. I have not actually had the pleasure myself but I remember a friend saying to me last year ‘Power Panties are wonderful’. Old fashioned corsets are still worn by some people but gradually as the younger generation feel the need for some form of support they are looking to the more modern control wear used by celebrities such as Gwenyth Paltrow, Oprah Winfrey, Kylie Minogue and even Madonna. Sarah Blakely the founder of Spanx could not find footless pantyhose to go with her cream trouser and open toed shoes. In her frustration she set out to tackle the 2 billion dollar hosiery industry. Within 2 years she had perfected a product that combined all the elements women love about underwear and changing all the elements they don’t like to provide a comfortable slim-line look with no VPL (Visible Panty Line). She started an underwear revolution selling 50,000 of her Power Panties in the first three months and revolutionised an industry that was in a ten year slump.
Basques – Corsets on the Outside
In the more recent years of control wear there appeared a fashion accessory modelled on the old fashioned style corset but worn on the outside of the clothing. It seemed designed to show off the slim torso and enhance the breasts by lifting them. These were usually worn over a flimsy blouse type top, and were fashionable over the Christmas party period. The bodice was boned and came to a point at the front just below the waist. It could be worn with a skirt or even over trousers. Basques are a popular garment for the gothic look and are also sold in shops dealing with eroticaBasques are not only found at Basques UK they can be purchased worldwide, although there is a high concentration of sales here in the UK.
This style of corset is still available as underwear and is known as a ‘corset basque’ or a ‘busk’ and is reminiscent of the dress bodices seen in cowboy films worn by ‘the heart of gold’ hostess at the town’s hotel saloon. They are boned and shaped to create the traditional hour glass figure and are similar to the Victorian corset. Some are laced at the back but with no maids, very difficult to do up. There are high cut legs and longer lines, often with suspenders so create that popular striper-gram look.
Some main points to consider when wearing control wear are:- uplifting pants will firm the bottom; Padded bra’s will enhance the breasts; a padded plunge gives a great cleavage; corsets and waist nippers will take inches off the waist but most importantly, if flesh should escape at waist or thigh it means your control wear is too tight.
Conclusion
When you look at the history of fashion it seems that women are never satisfied with the shape they were born with. Today more than in any other time in history we are allowed to have a more normal shape, but even that has to be contained, smoothed, uplifted or cinched to make the female body more than perfect. There are now several programmes on TV which are promoting the message that natural is good and we are fine the way we are. A little augmentation here and there to make the most of the assets you have is as much as you need to do. It is reported that men in general prefer women to look real which for them is sexier than the extravaganza women think men want. Obviously they have their preferences for type and size and shape, but we can’t be all things to all men and the sooner women realise that, the more comfortable they are going to be.
Since the appearance of Power Pants control wear lingerie has been transformed. Sarah Blakely has been described as the Pied Piper of the ‘wobbly bits brigade’ and her success has reached £250 million in global sales in the last year. Her products have become ‘the control wear to have’ and are worn by all the ‘best people’. There is a stigma for men wearing control wear so that they will not go out and buy such an item but wives and girlfriends are doing it for them. Manx the male version of Spanx is available on line and is promoted as a back support while playing golf, being good for posture and long car journeys.
At the end of the day we all want to look our best and if that means wearing a control wear garment that is what people will do. People both men and women want to be liked and admired and all the fashion contortions are just to fulfil our dreams of being the chosen one, the most beautiful or most popular. So however much we might like to believe we don’t need these gimmicks, we all pay homage to them in one way or another.
The Glorious Republic of Mauritius
Monday, August 31st, 2009Part of the Mascarene Islands, the Republic of Mauritius is off the coast of Africa in the Indian Ocean, 900 km (560 mi) east of Madagascar. The republic consists of five islands: St Brandon, Rodrigues, two Agalegas Islands and Mauritius itself.
The latter was originally uninhabited, but the Dutch named the island and established a colony that was seized by the French in 1715. They renamed the place Ile de France and built a prosperous economy based on sugar. But the British took the island in 1810 and it reverted to the original name.
Independence was granted in 1968 and this Commonwealth country is a stable democracy with one of Africa’s highest per capita incomes. This might be guessed by a visitor to Port Louis, who finds a sophisticated place with a cluster of high and medium rise buildings that might be mistaken from afar as the downtown area of a small American city, were it not for its location beside the azure Indian Ocean, surrounded by lush tropical vegetation.
Tourism has become an increasingly important sector of the economy, which had hitherto been based on sugar plantations and off-shore financial services.
The effort to attract visitors is proving successful, and might not even need the boost of a move to duty-free status. Mauritius is the most accessible island in the Indian Ocean, with wonderful beaches and crystal-clear waters.
Important though these essential ingredients of every tropical holiday destination may be, Mauritius has something extra, friendly people and a vibrant cultural mix that will leave an indelible impression.
There is a festival or fiesta practically every week and a tempting variety of ethnic food choices. The place must be good. Famous writer Mark Twain remarked that Mauritius was made before heaven, and heaven modeled on Mauritius.

Wedding Photography How-to
Sunday, August 30th, 2009A family member has asked you to take pictures at her wedding, and you want to do the best job possible. They may have decided not to hire a professional photographer and instead are relying on you to take pictures for them.
You feel the pressure, and want to make sure you don’t mess up. Here are ten hints and tips from Jim Whitesell, a Edmonton wedding photographer:
1. Use the best equipment possible
A small point-and-shoot camera is fine for capturing family memories, but doesn’t do as well as a digital SLR with an external flash. The focus time, shutter delay, and limited reach of the small built-in flash will all cause problems for you. If you do not own or have access to a digital SLR camera and external flash, you can probably rent them from a camera store. Be sure to test and practice with the camera before the wedding day! A professional will likely have multiple lenses as well, but this is often beyond the ability of a casual shooter.
2. Take at least two memory cards
Although it doesn’t happen often, memory cards can fail. Keeping an extra card with you is cheap insurance that will keep you shooting if your card does quit working. Be sure the cards are of ample size so you don’t run out of space half-way through the night. 4GB is the minimum size you should have with you.
3. Batteries, batteries, batteries
Be sure to charge the camera batteries the night before, and preferably have a second battery charged and ready. Most external flash units use AA batteries so have a couple extra sets of these, too.
4. Attend the rehearsal
Taking pictures at the rehearsal is the best way to be prepared for the pictures you’ll take at the actual ceremony. You’ll have a feel for where to position yourself for the best shots. While a professional wedding photographer won’t usually shoot at the rehearsal, they will often show up to not only reassure the bride and groom that they are prepared for the next day but also to scope out the building. Their experience will enable them to know where the best shots are just by seeing the facility.
5. Posing the bridal party
When taking formal pictures of the bridal party, pay attention to the details. Make sure everyone’s face is visible, and note the placement of hands and feet. Pleasing poses are key.
6. Shooting the ceremony
If the wedding will take place inside a church, you’ll need to shoot the ceremony without flash. Use a tripod to hold the camera steady or camera shake caused by longer exposure times will likely ruin the pictures.
7. Shooting the reception
If possible, try to get a shot or two of the reception hall before everyone arrives. Takes some shots of other details, too – like the head table decorations, cake, etc. Once things are underway, it’s always nice to go table-to-table and get pictures of all the guests.
8. Shoot the details
Take pictures of the little details. The rings, bridal bouquet, ring bearer, flower girl, bride’s shoes, etc. are all great details to capture and the bride will be quite pleased to have these.
9. Capture the fun
There are always fun, unplanned moments that make each wedding unique and memorable. Always have your camera ready to capture the moment!
10. Back up the photos
As soon as possible after the wedding, burn all the original images to a CD or DVD for safekeeping. Do this before you make any changes to them. If you accidentally delete an important picture or have a computer failure you’ll still have the originals to fall back on. Even a professional low cost wedding photographer will make backups.
Your friends have entrusted you with a very important task. The pictures are the best way to remember the wedding and all the fun details. Even though a professional wedding photographer will do a better job, brides and grooms with limited funds may not have the ability to hire one.
If you aren’t confident you can do a good job, why not go ahead and pay for all or part of a professional photographer’s fee as your gift to the couple? And if you just happen to be near Edmonton, Alberta, why not check out Jim Whitesell’s site for Edmonton wedding pictures.
Summer Cottage Adventure Travel in Iceland
Sunday, August 30th, 2009Traditional options for accommodation when you travel to iceland sometime prove too costly for families and small groups. Foreign tourists looking for bargain travel deals in Iceland get great value for money while staying in a summer cottage rather than in a hotel or a guesthouse. Viator an an online reservation/booking service provides an exclusive but inexpensive booking service on behalf of 130 owners of privately owned summer cottages in all parts of Iceland.
Viator.is was founded in 2002 by Petur Oskarsson and Bjarnheidur Hallsdottir. The company represents the owners of 130 privately owned cottages located in all parts of the country who make their cottages available for rent to foreign tourists visiting Iceland. Although each cottage is furnished and decorated differently they all include hot and cold water as well as heating. The cottages also include a shower or a bath, fully equipped kitchen and one or more bedrooms.
“About 80 percent of our customers spend their time here during the summer season which coincides with the traditional school holidays in Europe and North America,” says Oskarsson. Those visiting the country in winter would enjoy a different kind of experience such as sitting in a hot-tub heated with geothermal water while gazing at the northern lights.
Nearly half of all summer cottages in Iceland are located within an hour’s drive from Reykjavik the country’s capital where 65 percent of the population lives.
Further information about renting privately owned summer cottages in Iceland is available both in English and in the German language as Ferienhäuser in Island on Viator’s website: www.viator.is
Understanding Wealth Creation
Sunday, August 30th, 2009Ever since I can remember I’ve always been intrigued on the subject of how wealth is created, how you keep it and how you make that wealth work for you. And after many years of research and studying the biographies of successful business people the one thing that they all have in common from Henry Ford to Bill Gates is that they had a plan, they worked that plan and they never gave up. As I’ve continued my research on successful people I’ve also found you don’t have to be the most intelligent person in the world but you must be willing to surround yourself with other people who know what you don’t know (very important).
As a long time business person myself and I’ve never been afraid to ask for help when I needed it, and I’m constantly educating myself on current financial trends as the world economy is changing right before our very eyes. Don’t be fooled into thinking that you can do it all yourself it’s just to complex, the key is finding the right people or program that you feel comfortable with and that is committed to your financial well being. And one such program is Wealth Masters they have created a fantastic program that covers everything from credit repair to wealth building strategies.
It absolutely amazes me how little people know about how the economy and the world financial system works. And I really don’t think that this is by coincidence, think about it financial education is not taught in our school system nor is it encouraged as a critical topic of importance. We’ve all heard the saying “A fool and his money are quickly departed” Just like anything else in life taking charge of your finances is a process of education, information is power. So start today by empowering yourself it has become extremely important that you learn how to take charge of financial situation today if not for yourself for your family, This is Kevin Thomas hope you enjoyed reading this article.
Going On Your Holidays To Valetta Malta
Sunday, August 30th, 2009Enjoy Your Malta Holidays
You can find the tiny island of Malta in the Mediterranean. It was once a home to The Knights of St. John, it is a beautiful place filled with culture and history dating back to the time of Paul The Apostle in 60 A.D when he was shipwrecked on the island.
The buildings are old and historic, including some original temples erected to the goddess of fertility. Valletta is the capital city of Malta and selected as place of World Heritage by UNESCO. One of three islands that make up the archipelago, also referred to as the Maltese Islands.
Malta, Gozo and Comino. Valetta itself isn’t really all that old as far as European cites go, (although out of all the European cities, it is the smallest). It only dates back to about 1565 following the great siege and was built by the Ottoman Turks.
And it said that it is the most powerful and fortified town in the world. After the second world war lots of the local people from the city moved out to other areas of Malta to more modern houses, so the population went down to about 9000 inhabitants. Though you wouldn’t notice this in the summer months due to the vast amount of tourists that visit the capital city.
On holiday in Valletta
While vacationing in Valletta, visit The Manoel Theatre Museum, The National Museum of Archaeology, St John’s Cathedral & Museum, St. Anne Square Garden, take a walk on the beach or enjoy a relaxing massage in one of the hotels wellness spas. Travel to Gozo and Comino is by ferryboat.
There are two main languages spoken in Malta and they are Maltese and English. And English is widely spoken in Malta and Gozo. The currency used in Malta is the Euro. You can exchange currency at banks and also the Exchange Bureau located in the Malta International Airport which is open 24hours a day.
International bankcards are accepted. Hotels and Restaurants accept credit cards as well as some of the shops. Shops remain open until 10.pm and can be accessed by public transportation. Food, clothing and souveneirs can be found in the local shops. If you are there on a Sunday morning, you can enjoy a visit to the open air market on Merchant Street.
Valletta also hosts plays and summer music concerts. Enjoy swimming, scuba diving, windsurfing, boating, driving jet-skis, and the walking trails along the beach and coastal area. Some of the beaches have cafes and snack bars. Finding Your Way Around on the island Getting around on the island is by bus, car or bicycle.
Busses go everywhere on the island, and drivers drive on the left side of the road. Bicycles can be hired on the island for a relaxing or scenic ride. Nightlife, food and drink Most of the bars and restaurants serve good food and drinks. Area restaurants include: Ambrosia (an Italian style bistro) The Carriage, which offers some nice French cooking, Hibiki which serves Japanese Teppanyaki, and Rubino’s which serves classic Mediterranean.
The main place for popular nightlife on the island is St Julian’s on Paceville. There is also Sacha’s Bar & Bistro, Café Jubilee, and Q Bar is the best after-hours venue.
